Sunshine..you are my sunshine.....

On Monday, two days before Christmas, Hagen went with his Great- Grandad (G-Paw) to Happy Tails animal shelter to pick a dog out for granddad for Christmas.  His had recently died and he needed a new friend.  He ended out picking up an Australian Shepard named Star.  While there Hagen met a dog named Sunshine, and it was love at first sight.  Hagen is not a huge dog fan, and has never asked for a dog to my knowledge, but as soon as he returned home that day he started relentlessly begging for the dog.  I said No No No over and over and then.....

Handwritten letters...anyone that knows Hagen, will know that this is a BIG DEAL!
Then he said mom, maybe I can ask Santa, I know he could do it.  Mom we would be saving her life and giving her a home.  My heart was breaking.

So after lots of sweet talking, I persuaded Santa to give sweet Sunshine a chance.  Hagen was still begging Christmas Eve morning, so I told him his only hope was Santa Claus and a Christmas Miracle.  He said, "How mom? Christmas is tomorrow" I told him to write Santa a note and I would text a picture to Santa's special hotline.

Is that not the most precious letter ever?

Hagen went to bed Christmas Eve, hoping for his Christmas Miracle.
and....

Christmas Morning he got his miracle.  This is the sweetest dog, and so well behaved. We are so glad Sunshine found a home here.

Parties, Parties, and More Parties

Friday morning was Christmas party day here at the Tijerina house.  Let me just say I was not thinking about attending Christmas parties when I decided to have three kids in five years.  It was an early release day at the school, so the parties were morning parties.  So thankful for my sister Blaire aka Aunt Bobo, who volunteered on her day off to come to the kids parties with me to help out.

My sweet and handsome Cooper.

Cooper and some of his buddies.

Ninja Turtle chapstick!

This little sticky hand made his day! This may be the best Christmas gift he received.

Hagen and his best friends! Cayden and Ryder.

His gingerbread box.

His ornament from Ms. Stokes

Ms. Stokes passing out her ornaments.

Opening Hagen's gift.

He loves Ms. Stokes!

After the boys' parties we headed down the hall to Harper's classroom, but not before we stopped for a quick photo in front of the Christmas tree.
Aunt Bobo, Hagen and Cooper.

Harper and her friends waiting for the party to start, after the party was Polar Express, so the girls were ready in the pajamas and the hot chocolate was warming.  We were in charge of supplying that, so of course we brought red cups, red chevron straws and peppermint marshmellos, what could be better?

Harper, Annabelle and Claire. AKA" her BFF's"

Sweet Friends!

I love how the home center had a Christmas wreath!

They started the party off by walking to the other classrooms and singing carols to the other classes.  I think that all Santa should have purchased for these kiddos is a set of belles, they loved the belles.

They are all such good friends!

After the parties, we headed home with Hagen's friend Cayden in tow, to start baking and preparing for Harper's Birthday Party the next day.  I worked on things for the upcoming weekend for hours, and I am SO TIRED by the end of this day.

Elves and Pirates....

Tuesday, Dec. 16th the 3rd and 4th graders put on their yearly Christmas Musical, A Pirate Christmas.  I have to say I am not a huge musical fan, but I loved this one! I mean really loved it.. It was so cute.  The students spent the whole day practicing at the high school and were ready to go that evening.  Hagen does not like to sing even though he has a beautiful voice, so I was shocked to hear him softly singing some of the songs at home that afternoon before the play. To sum the story up the Elves teach the students how to give.  Some of my favorite photos from the night.

Hagen making his debut as "Sleigh Dragger".

Rickey and his pirate costume was so cute, and I thought the pirate ship was amazing.

Hagen making his speaking debut as the "small elf", he did great!

Singing loud and proud.

No Elves would be complete without Santa or in this case (Whitebeard).  Hagen's classmate Austin did a wonderful job.

A handstand walking elf. Hagen's friend Carson.

Dancing reindeer.

Our neighbor Luke and friend Trent waiting for their parts.

After the program we headed down the hall to the gym and watched the Boys Panter Basketball team earn a win over Emory/Rains.  A great start to the Christmas Season.

Bounce Houses and Basketball

We had a full day Saturday, starting out with Christmas lights on the outside of the house.  I will be adding those soon!  After decorating we headed to our cousin Payton's birthday party.  She turned seven years old.  The kids were so excited to go to one of their favorite places, Royal Jump.

Opening her present for the kids.

Harper enjoying her pizza.

After the party we headed to Grand Saline, to watch Aunt Mae-Mae's basketball team play in the championship game of their tournament.

Aunt Mae-Mae coaching.

The boys were so excited to get to sit on the bench.

They ended up with a win, and won 1st place.

After the game we headed down the road to Edgewood to watch the Panthers boys basketball teams in their tournament, the kids were troopers after three basketball games that day! We enjoyed dinner with friends at a great restaurant called The Lumberjack.  A great Saturday!
